Emily's World of Design

Emily's World of Design is a solo custom book cover design studio run by Emily, a designer with an architecture master's degree (site terms fall under Serbian law) who has designed covers since 2017 and claims more than 1,000 finished covers. It fills the gap between cheap premades and $1,000+ boutique designers: tiered custom packages at $150–$400, with print files and marketing graphics bundled into the higher tiers.

What You Get#

• Five custom packages: Bronze $150 (ebook), Silver $210 (+ paperback), Gold $260 (+ social media package, cover reveal banner, animated cover), Platinum $300 (+ hardcover and one teaser) and Diamond $400 (+ Instagram carousel and dust jacket).
• Free extras on every tier: 3x3D renders, a title page and the title on a transparent background.
• Add-on menu: paperback $60, hardcover $30, dust jacket $60 and audiobook cover $25, all adapted from existing cover art. Also box sets from $50, animated ebook covers $15, BookBub ads, teasers, bookmarks and banners.
• Other author services: logo design $180 and fantasy maps from $350, priced by detail.
• Stock included: images are licensed from Depositphotos under its Standard License at no extra cost.
• Paperback before formatting: you can approve a "digital paperback" on the KDP template and get the print-ready file later at no extra charge.

Who It's For#

• Genre fiction authors: the portfolio leans on fantasy (dark, epic, paranormal, urban) and contemporary, historical and MM romance, with a strong science fiction section.
• Non-fiction authors: a separate portfolio covers memoir, self-help, business and Christian titles.
• Series authors: ordering three or more covers at once takes 10% off the whole order, add-ons included.

Pricing: Custom packages run $150–$400 per book in USD. Direct orders need a 50% PayPal deposit, with the balance due after approval. You can also hire her through 99designs, which holds payment in escrow and adds a 5% fee. The price sheet also lists premade designs at $50 (ebook) or $70 (ebook + print), but the site has no premade catalogue to browse.

Strengths#

• Stated no-AI process: the homepage and FAQ say she uses no AI tools or AI-generated images, for covers or anything else.
• Long track record: her 99designs profile (member since 2012, "Top Level") shows 5.0 stars from 513 reviews, 570 1-to-1 projects and 80 repeat clients.
• Unlimited revisions and refunds: revisions are free until you approve, and the FAQ promises a full refund if you cancel and don't use the design.
• Low entry price: $150 for a custom ebook cover sits at the bottom of the usual custom range.

Limitations#

• One-person studio: every order depends on one designer's schedule. The first proposal takes about two weeks and a full project two to four weeks, so rush jobs are case by case.
• No self-editing: you may not alter the final files yourself because of the stock licence terms. Later changes are quoted separately.
• Prices only as images: the pricing sheet is published as images and contradicts itself on box sets ($50/$75 in one block, $60/$80 in another). The site terms say prices can change without notice.
• Direct orders by email and PayPal only: no order form or card checkout. The no-AI promise covers her process, not whether Depositphotos stock images contain AI content.

Alternatives#

Miblart is a team-run custom studio starting around $200, with faster turnaround and no reliance on a single designer. To compare several designers' concepts before paying, a 99designs contest is the main alternative. Emily also takes 1-to-1 projects there.
