Premade Ebook Cover Shop

Premade Ebook Cover Shop is a one-designer cover business run by Marianne Nowicki, who launched it in 2013 after a 20-year advertising career and worked as an Art Buyer and Print Producer at New York and Boston ad agencies. Every cover is sold exclusively — once purchased it is permanently removed from the catalog, and the store enforces this by capping each design at one unit per cart.

The live catalog held 207 premade covers when checked in August 2026, weighted heavily toward romance. Marianne has designed covers for New York Times and USA Today bestselling authors and was a prize partner at the 2022 Page Turner Awards.

What You Get#

• Premade cover: $69–$125 as marked; 24–48 hours to first mockup; 2 revisions. Price includes new title, author name, subtitle or tagline, and font/color/hue/eye-color changes
• Premade series set: $175–$275 for a matched set of 2–3, sold as a unit
• Semi-custom: $45 time fee on top of the premade's price, plus $10 per added stock photo, for swapping or adding an image; 3 revisions, then $25 each
• Full custom: $195 for simpler 1–2 image romance covers, $225–$375 for more complex work; roughly 2 weeks; revisions "within reason"; covers up to 3 stock images, $10 per extra
• Series continuations: custom follow-ups cost 75% of the original custom price; premade follow-ups are $85 + $10 per stock photo
• Print wrap: $95 for the first book in a series, $75 for each later one, +$35 to reformat for a second print platform (e.g. IngramSpark or B&N)
• Other add-ons: audiobook cover reformat $35, Vella-format reformat $35, social media graphics $25 each (10% off 5+), web banners $45 single / $65 for up to three sites, boxed set graphics $75 (2–3 books) / $95 (4–8) / $115 (9+), 3D cover mockup $15, format change after delivery $35, $25 minimum fee for any post-sign-off edit

Who It's For#

• Romance, cozy mystery, and YA authors: These are where the shelf is actually deep — 117 romance/erotica, 67 chick lit/cozy, 58 young adult, 43 paranormal, 29 sci-fi/fantasy, 28 mystery/thriller, 27 seasonal/Christmas covers live at once (genres overlap, so they do not sum)
• Authors on a launch deadline: 24–48 hours to first mockup, with the cover pulled from sale the moment it is bought
• Series writers who start with one book: Any premade can become a series later at $85 per continuation, and the designer keeps your working file so print wraps and sequels match

Pricing: Premades $69–$125; series sets $175–$275; semi-custom $45 + the cover's price; custom $195–$375. Print wrap $95. Payment runs through PayPal (cards accepted without a PayPal account). All sales are final.

Strengths#

• Exclusivity plus continuity: Each design is retired on purchase, and Marianne keeps the layered file so print wraps, sequel covers, boxed sets, and banners can be built later at published a-la-carte rates rather than requoted
• The add-on ladder is fully published: A single pricing table on the How It Works page lists every service with a number next to it, including the post-delivery fees most studios keep in email — rare in this category
• Print-cover pricing scales for series: $95 for the first wrap dropping to $75 for each subsequent book is cheaper than most studios' flat per-book print rates

Limitations#

• You never get the source file. The shop states it cannot release the PSD without breaking its stock-photo licences, so every future change routes back through Marianne at $25 minimum — no self-service tweaks, no third-party animated-cover work
• Stock licences cap at 250,000 copies, not the 500,000 that is standard elsewhere (some images stretch to 500,000 depending on the agency). Past that, you must tell the designer so an extended licence can be bought
• Nothing is refundable: "All services and book cover sales are final sale," and no refunds are issued once work has started
• Site pricing contradicts itself in one place. The About page still runs a legacy PayPal dropdown quoting a $175 custom cover and a "$125 CreateSpace Print Cover" — CreateSpace was retired by Amazon in 2018. The How It Works pricing table and the custom-cover page are the current figures ($195–$375 custom, $95 print wrap); do not order off the About page
• Still merchandising Kindle Vella. Six covers, a nav category, and a $35 "reformat to Vella" service remain on sale for a platform Amazon closed on 26 February 2025. The covers themselves are fine for serial fiction elsewhere, but the labelling is 18 months stale
• No public review platform: No Trustpilot profile exists, and community visibility is low compared with larger premade shops — the only testimonials are the ones the site selects
