Bookfly Design has produced custom book covers since 2013 under designer James T. Egan, who brings 18 years of experience across advertising, print, and book design — including six years at an audiobook publisher where he designed covers for Grammy-nominated titles. The studio also ran copyediting through Kira Rubenthaler, an 18-year editorial professional, but that half of the business is closed to newcomers: the editing page now states "At this time, we're no longer accepting new editing clients" and invites only past clients to ask about availability. For a new author, Bookfly is a cover-design studio and nothing else.

Covers are built in Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign; delivery is web-optimized files and a print-ready PDF. Editable source files are not listed as a deliverable. Payment is via PayPal (card accepted without an account): 50% deposit before work begins, remainder on final delivery. Design typically takes one to two weeks from first draft to final version.
