Campaign Compass

Campaign Compass is a desktop promo and swap tracker for indie authors who run BookFunnel group promotions and BookClicker newsletter swaps and send their newsletters through MailerLite. It pulls data from all three services into a local database, puts it on one calendar, and matches each promo or swap to the MailerLite campaign that fulfilled it. It comes from Mind Forge Studio, which lists a business address in Norco, California, and launched in March 2026 (current version 1.2.6).

What You Get#

• Combined calendar: MailerLite campaigns, BookFunnel promo share dates, and inbound BookClicker swaps on one calendar, filterable by source and mailing list.
• Automatic campaign matching: It scans MailerLite campaigns for promo and swap links and marks a commitment fulfilled when the link and send date line up; unmatched items can be linked by hand.
• Outbound swap ledger: Swaps you requested through BookClicker Launch Center get their own list, calendar, and per-partner analytics.
• Attention dashboard: Sync health, unlinked promos and swaps, upcoming share dates, and outbound swaps pending confirmation.
• Multiple BookClicker calendars: Added in 1.2.6. Each calendar can be mapped to MailerLite groups so matching uses the right audience.
• Local data: Everything is stored in a SQLite file on your computer, with a recovery snapshot taken before database-changing upgrades.

Who It's For#

• Swap-heavy genre authors: People doing several BookClicker swaps and BookFunnel promos a month who now track commitments in a spreadsheet.
• MailerLite users specifically: MailerLite is the only email service in the setup guide and user manual.

Pricing: $19.99, a single purchase with no subscription shown on the product page. The license covers one computer at a time, and you can move it by deactivating the old machine. The EULA says the purchase does not guarantee future updates. Refunds must be requested within 14 days and are generally refused once the software has been downloaded, unless you were charged twice or it has a technical fault support can't fix. No free trial is listed on the site.

Strengths#

• Low cost: It costs less than two months of StoryOrigin Standard and has no recurring fee.
• Tracks both directions: Swaps you owe are checked against your actual MailerLite sends, and swaps owed to you are followed through their BookClicker Launch Center status.
• Read-only sync: According to the manual, syncing only reads source data. Notes, retention purges, and clearing data never change records at MailerLite, BookFunnel, or BookClicker.

Limitations#

• Password-based automated login: BookFunnel and BookClicker are connected with your account email and password through automated login in a Chromium browser (Edge or Chrome on Windows; Chrome, Edge, or Brave on macOS). MailerLite, by contrast, uses an API token. The passwords are stored in the local database. A site change at either service could break syncing; the EULA disclaims responsibility for third-party changes.
• Unsigned installers: The Windows EXE is not code-signed and the macOS DMGs are not notarized, so SmartScreen and Gatekeeper warnings appear at install.
• Narrow platform support: Windows 10/11 64-bit and macOS 12+ only, with separate Intel and Apple silicon Mac installers. There is no web or mobile version, and updates are installed by hand.
• It doesn't send anything: It is a review and planning dashboard. Responding to swaps and scheduling campaigns still take place in BookClicker and MailerLite.
• No track record yet: Zero reviews on the product page and no independent reviews or forum discussion found as of September 2026. It is the developer's only product on sale.

Alternatives#

StoryOrigin builds swaps, group promos, and verification into one platform for $10/month. It replaces BookClicker instead of sitting on top of it. BookFunnel tracks its own promo and author-swap shares but doesn't check whether they went out in your MailerLite campaigns.
