BookVault is the print-on-demand platform of choice for indie authors who sell direct-to-reader through their own website, and for anyone who needs special edition printing options that mainstream POD services simply cannot match. Built on nearly 30 years of commercial printing expertise — its parent company, Printondemand-worldwide (PODWW), has printed for Oxford University Press and Taylor & Francis since the mid-1990s — BookVault brings offset-quality standards to single-copy on-demand printing.

Where KDP Print and IngramSpark offer a standardised set of formats, BookVault lets authors customise almost everything: trim sizes from A6 (148×105mm) up to 297×297mm square, split-color pricing (you only pay for color on pages that actually use it), and a premium special editions service — BookVaultBespoke — that produces cloth-bound hardbacks with gold foiling, sprayed edges, custom endpapers, head and tail bands, ribbons, and even on-demand box sets. These are production capabilities not available from any other major POD provider.

Pricing structure: BookVault is free to register. The main cost to understand upfront is the title upload (setup) fee, which covers file validation and quality checks: £19.95 / $24.95 on the free myBookVAULT plan, £4.95 on the Indie plan (£24.95/month), and free on the Pro plan (£89.95/month). Members of ALLi (Alliance of Independent Authors) or IBPA receive free upload codes every month, effectively eliminating the setup fee on the free plan.
